What you can do

You can make a difference from right here in the mountains.

There are many ways that you can make a difference and help our waterways and ocean.

Join an event, participate in a campaign, follow the 9 Rs, make better seafood choices, reduce your carbon footprint, become informed, or simply spread the word.

Come to an event

We run regular events to tell you about the ocean – the marvels in and around it, and also what we need to do to look after it. Our events are free, fun, and a great way to stay informed and motivated.

Join a campaign

We run regular awareness-raising campaigns to encourage people to develop new habits, and we lobby retailers and local government to make change. Join a campaign in person or support a campaign online.

Get informed

Knowledge is power, and by understanding more about how our actions in the mountains can negatively affect the oceans, you might have a better idea of what you can reasonably do to make a difference.

Follow the 9 Rs

Reduce, reuse, recycle: you’re probably doing this already, so we’ve put together a few more ideas to help you manage the plastic in your life and live healthier AND more sustainably.

Reduce your carbon footprint

Become more aware about how you’re using energy and fossil fuels. Ride a bike, turn off the light, switch to LED light bulbs, and help to prevent ocean acidification.

Choose sustainable seafood

It’s not acceptable to have an elephant steak or rhino horn soup. Why? Because they’re endangered and remarkable creatures. There are lots of remarkable and endangered fish that we can choose not to eat.
