“What Policies Work?” Workshop

Our “What Policies Work” workshop gives you the chance to test policy changes to see what effect they have on reducing carbon emissions and creating a world in which the temperature sits at 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, the international goal formally recognised in the Paris climate agreement.

Many of us have strong views about what policies will make the most difference, but we lack the tools to simulate the results.

This short facilitated workshop allows you to suggest policy changes to mitigate the climate crisis, discuss them with the group, and then see what effect the group suggestions have (because no single individual gets to choose for all!). We look at both the effects on temperature, and the impacts on societies around the world as a result of our policies.

This short workshop is thought-provoking and helpful in providing potential outcomes based on a model that uses current research to visualise change.

2 hours, including a short break

Online via Zoom with virtual tools. On-site options are available.

Minimum 10 participants, maximum 500 participants.

About the the En-Roads Model

We use the EN-ROADS simulator in this workshop, a tool designed by Climate Interactive and MIT that allows real-time application of high-level policy changes to model how different policies may affect temperature change in the future.
